Why the name Serene Spaces?

What goes into creating a business name that speaks to the goals of the designer? I thought long and hard about what best represented me and who I am when thinking about the name for my interior design business, and I wish I could simply say “I just liked it,” but its much deeper than that. For years, I have had another established business helping people heal. I realized that through design, I wanted to help people create environments that they could also heal, decompress, destress, and relax in. What feels better than serenity in your own space? I felt that Serene Spaces encompassed that for all aspects.

For me, my bedroom is my retreat and partly the inspiration for the name as well. The soft colors of seafoam and light gray bedding, sheets, and accents, coupled with my dark mahogany furniture make the space serene and rich. The soft candles I have set timers on for me to enter the space when I get home from work add such a gorgeous and calming visual aesthetic for me, that it instantly relaxes me and melts my stress away. Add some soft jazz, classical, or meditation music into the mix and I am all set. It’s truly lovely.

When people walk into the environments that I have created it is such a treat for me to watch them visibly relax when they walk into them as well. I want to create that feeling for my Clients again and again.

Here’s a sneak peek at my serene space.
